URBAN ART AND STREET ART MUSEUM / THE FORGES
Above all, the MAUSA is the first Urban Art and Street Art Museum of France. It was created in an industrial zone of the 19th century called the “Forges de Baudin”. This place charged with history used to be a foundry that evolved through time to become a real village where a hundred workers or so lived in community until 1959.
The new owner is Stanislas Belhomme. In other words, it is the perfect venue to inspire street artists that are always looking for more stories to tell through their works. As a matter of fact, from the Philly tags of Cornbread in the middle of the sixties to nowadays street art, the artists have plenty of messages to transmit whether they are political, humoristic or historical. All these messages will be gathered in the MAUSA.
The museum will be divided in two sections: a permanent collection and a temporary one. Regarding the temporary section, there will be revivals at least twice a year. The opportunity will also be given to raising artists to express themselves fully whether outside or inside the venue.
